Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang said Vietnam wants preparations for its international financial centre in HCM City and Da Nang finished in October, with first transactions sought in November.
He instructed operating agencies in the two cities to meet the October requirements and to engage financial institutions and investors directly so that members are recruited and deals generated in November, with legal compliance and financial security maintained.
Both cities have signed off on staffing plans and set aside people, money, offices and technology infrastructure.
Thang said supervisory bodies have to be running before any substantive transactions start.
