By the end of Q3 2026, total import-export turnover between Vietnam and Malaysia reached 17.4 billion USD, higher than all of 2025, and 2026 is forecast to far exceed expectations.
In 2025, two-way turnover reached 16.33 billion USD, setting an expectation of about 18 billion USD for 2026.
According to the latest preliminary data from the Customs Department, by end-Q3 2026 Vietnam's exports to Malaysia reached 5.675 billion USD, up 46.4% year-on-year and above the 5.327 billion USD of full-year 2025.
Imports from Malaysia in the same period reached 11.720 billion USD, up 43.2% year-on-year, higher than the 11.004 billion USD of full-year 2025.
Vietnam's trade deficit with Malaysia in the first 9 months of 2026 reached 6.045 billion USD, higher than the 5.676 billion USD of full-year 2025.
