Vietnam and EFTA officially signed the deal on October 18, 2026, creating new trade prospects.

According to Norwegian representatives, whole salmon from Norway currently faces a 10 per cent tariff, while fillets face 15 per cent.

However, tariff concessions do not necessarily mean retail prices will immediately fall by a corresponding amount.

According to NSC data, Norway is currently Vietnam's largest Atlantic salmon supplier, with total imports reaching 22,407 tonnes, including 6,828 tonnes of fresh salmon.
