PM Lê Minh Hưng said Vietnam's economic transformation is creating major chances for cooperation with the EU and its member states.
Vietnam became the first Southeast Asian nation with a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the EU; the bloc ranks as Vietnam's fourth-largest trading partner, third-largest export market and fifth-largest import market.
He asked the diplomats to push effective EVFTA implementation, speed up EVIPA ratification and ease two-way trade and investment.
The PM also sought their backing for the European Commission's early lifting of the IUU fishing yellow card on Vietnam.
European firms wanted more investment and partnerships in green transition, supply chains, transport, strategic infrastructure, critical raw materials, science and technology, defence and security.
