Vietnam's data centre sector is dealing with power and infrastructure difficulties while the industry grows rapidly.
Power capacity for data centres is expected to rise from roughly 580 MW in 2025 to almost 980 MW by 2030.
For 2026-2030, Vietnam plans to put about US$136.3 billion into its power system, with $118.2 billion for generation and $18.1 billion for the transmission grid.
Jessica Nguyen said the energy problem for AI and data centres is worldwide, not specific to Vietnam.
