The Government issued Decree No. 131/2024/ND-CP dated 15/10/2024, setting Vietnam's special preferential import tariff to implement VIFTA for 2024-2027.
Under Circular No. 11/2024/TT-BCT, goods must meet the corresponding origin criteria, such as being wholly produced in a member country or made from originating materials.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thuong Lang said Vietnamese firms first need to use domestic raw and input materials to meet origin standards.
The year 2027 marks the end of the tariff period set in this Decree, and does not mean VIFTA expires after 2027.
