On 5/10/2026, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, a forum on economic, trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Tanzania took place with the participation of regulators, trade promotion organisations and the business communities of both countries.

According to the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, two-way trade between Vietnam and Tanzania reached only about 400 million USD in 2025 but is trending positively; in the first eight months of 2026 alone, two-way trade rose 25.7%.

In 2025, Vietnam's cashew imports from Tanzania reached about 298 million USD, up nearly 60% from 2024.

Tanzania highlighted its geographical advantage in East Africa, its ability to connect with regional markets and development potential in agriculture, minerals, energy, industry, logistics and services.

Since starting operations in 2015, Halotel has invested nearly 800 million USD in Tanzania, built nearly 3,500 BTS stations, covered about 90% of the population and served about 18.2 million subscribers.
