Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc said Vietnam has named five priority areas for working with the US.

Those areas are high technology, especially semiconductors, artificial intelligence and data, clean energy, sustainable supply chains, finance and innovation, and education and training.

Two-way trade with the US reached US$157.83 billion in the first nine months of 2026, up 24.5 per cent year on year.

The US ranks 11th among 153 countries and territories investing in Vietnam.

Tuc said the two sides are working to conclude talks on a reciprocal trade agreement for fairness and balance, which would give firms a stable, transparent and predictable framework for investment and long-term cooperation.
