Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng demanded tougher steps so that electricity supplies suffice for double-digit economic growth and for high-tech projects, data centres in particular.

The meeting reviewed how major power generation and transmission projects are progressing, the hurdles they face, steps to secure enough supply for the remaining months of 2026, for 2027 and through 2030, and ways to raise funds.

He told the Ministry of Industry and Trade, together with the Ministry of Finance and relevant agencies, to examine each project and single out those running late, those no longer feasible, and those needing adjustments, additions or replacements.

On the institutional side, the Government sent the Law on Electricity to the National Assembly, together with Resolution 253/2025/QH15 covering national energy development in 2026-2030 and mechanisms for renewable energy projects.
