Ookla's August 2026 Speedtest Global Index put the capital's median mobile download speed at 493.37 Mbps.
Hanoi dropped two places to 30th globally in fixed broadband, with median download of 251.94 Mbps, upload of 199.35 Mbps and latency of 4 milliseconds.
Nationally, Vietnam's median mobile download speed was 219.93 Mbps, moving up one spot to ninth globally.
The commercialisation of 5G services and continued network coverage expansion have largely driven Vietnam's rapid mobile internet gains, especially in Hanoi.
